THREE of FIVE stars
I did receive an advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review, but unfortunately this book was a bit one note to me. It did not grab me as much as I had anticipated. The concept is great, but in the execution it was the same idea over and over: the heart and brain rarely want the same thing or work towards the same purpose. In the beginning I really loved it, it was cute and gives you a few things to think about. But then it just seemed to be repetitive. I didn’t feel the idea was enough for an entire book. Perhaps to read a couple pages each day, but it was difficult to get through the whole thing in one sitting. That said, it wasn’t bad, and I did enjoy each cartoon individually. Although it’s not for me, it would probably make for a sweet gift.
